OUR STORY

our story - livingston’s soda fountain & grill

Originally constructed by the United States Post Office in 1935, the building was purchased by the Livingston family in the late 1970s and converted into a home furnishings store. After the business closed in 2021, the space was transformed into Livingston’s Diner by local doctor Jack Pettigrew. Inspired by old-fashioned soda fountains and his time working in his father’s pharmacy, Jack had always dreamed of opening a restaurant. He and his wife Glenda, operated the diner until January 2025. In March of 2025, the Sid & Vanessa Vandiver continues Jack’s dream, ready to write its next chapter.

Though the name “Livingston’s” remains as a nod to its recent past, the building has been completely reimagined. Now a retro-themed eatery, Livingston’s invites you to step back in time. Surrounded by a carefully curated collection of antiques, guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner, or dessert in a nostalgic soda shop setting, savoring classics just like the good old days.
